The Halwyn Candle - Wood Sage & Sea Salt - Shayla W X Abel Burners
A stunning Earthen-Ware candle, made by hand, from clay foraged in Cornwall. This is truly more a work of art then a candle.
Shayla Wongwichien is a Thai-Canadian ceramicist living on her Husband’s ancestral farmland in Halwyn, Cornwall, with her two children. Working from her summerhouse studio with views over the Camel Estuary, Shayla has created these unique candle vessels to Kat and Ash’s brief from wild foraged clay, and a glaze made from Blackthorn ash fired in Shayla’s studio wood burner, Cornish stone, quartz and rain water.
The candles have been completed by Abel Burners using natural vegetable wax and delicately scented with deep, earthy wood sage and fresh sea salt; inspired by Halwyn and Shayla's summerhouse studio views. They are hand filled in Grampound Road, Cornwall, by Ash, Kat and our little team of villagers.
The vessels are liquid safe and designed to be washed out and re-used, either for your own candle projects, as a trinket pot or even an espresso/tea cup!
Each candle is totally unique, and is completely hand made from start to finish by Shayla and Abel Burners right here in Cornwall, and feature our dual stamps on the base.
